Home · About Us
Born from a small circle in March 2020, we've grown into a community for the Malaiyaga queer family and allies — united by pride, equality and love.
ARUVI began on 21 March 2020 as a small circle called குறிஞ்சி (Kurinji), founded by Subramaniam Sugumar and co-founder Warathash Thiyagaraj. As its first members joined, the circle grew and on 23 August 2020 it was renamed by the community as Aruvi Mazhiyaga Queer Network (Aruvi Malaiyaga Queer Network).
We believe everyone deserves to live openly, safely and joyfully. That belief shapes every program we run, every story we publish and every door we open.
To create safe, joyful spaces where every LGBTQ+ person can find support, community and the confidence to live as their truest self.
A world where pride needs no permission — where love, identity and expression are celebrated freely, everywhere.
Inclusion, courage, compassion and joy. We lead with kindness and stand firmly for equality and human dignity.
The group is founded as குறிஞ்சி (Kurinji) by Subramaniam Sugumar and co-founder Warathash Thiyagaraj.
Our very first members join the circle — Ajanthan, followed by Akshaya Prithi.
The members rename the foundation Aruvi Mazhiyaga Queer Network.
We continue to grow as a home for the Malaiyaga queer community and allies — and there's a place here for you.
The founders and first members who started it all — and continue to nurture our community.
